Summer Internship

You may have seen him running around in an FS truck already this year delivering seed, helping at one of our locations, scouting fields, or even visiting your farms, and we are glad to have him be a part of our CCFS team this Summer. Nathan Goebel, a Junior at the University of Illinois is spending 10 weeks with us to learn more about agriculture retail and the FS system. He is looking forward to learning more about precision agriculture and the issues this season is throwing at our patrons. When not working at FS, he enjoys fishing and spending time on his family farm. Please help us welcome Nathan Goebel to our team this Summer!

Norris Promoted To Precision Farming Specialist

Meet Christian County's newest Precision Farming Specialist, Alex Norris. Alex has been employed with Christian County FS since 2012 and is certainly not new to the farming community.  His past duties with FS were at the Stonington plant where he was an operator/ tender driver.  Alex received an associates degree in Agronomics from Lincoln Land Community College and grew up helping his family farm.  He currently resides outside of Taylorville with his wife Kaitlyn, son Noah, and has another child on the way. Alex enjoys hunting and spending time with his family. When asked what he has enjoyed the most in his new role, Alex said "Being able to go out to our patrons farms, learning everyone's operations, and having the opportunity to build relationships with our customers and their families has been the best part of becoming the Precision Specialist for CCFS".

Arbor Day Donation

On Arbor Day, general manager, Mark Bauman, donated $500.00 to the Taylorville Tree Recovery Team. The $500.00 donation will go towards purchasing more trees to replant those that were destroyed by the December tornado in the Taylorville community.

Mike "Monty" Montgomery Completes Generac Training

Congratulations Monty on completing the Air-Cooled training requirements needed to be re-certified to install and repair Generac Generators. Monty attended a four day class in Chicago back in April. Give Mike "Monty" Montgomery a call to have your whole house generator installed, repaired, or maintained.

Supporting A Once In A Lifetime Trip

Christian County FS was pleased to host a promotion at the Taylorville Fast Stop Station during the month of March that will help fund the Taylorville FFA Judging Teams trip to Scotland/ Ireland this Summer. For the entire month of March, 5 cents per gallon purchased at the Taylorville Fast Stop was donated to the judging team. On March 20th, the FFA members spent their afternoon at the Fast Stop Station pumping gas and selling porkchops sandwiches. During those hours 25 cents per gallon of gasoline purchased was then donated back to the FFA Judging Team. Thanks to our supportive community, Christian County FS was able to present the Taylorville FFA Judging Team with a check for $4,662.24. This monetary donation will greatly help offset each students expense this June when they represent the United States at the Royal Highland Show overseas.
